Look At That Face

Look at that face...Could he possibly have a temper? Yes, Trevin gave Kelly & I his first real temper tantrum today. Our boy is 1 yr. and 15 days old and he wanted to be Mr. Independent outside. A big change from yesterday. Yesterday he would follow Mommy and Daddy anywhere. Now, just one day later he didn't even want to be carried across the street. He wanted to be put down and left alone to explore. Well we let him explore but not without a careful eye consistently watching him. I have a feeling he is going to love the outdoors. But the tantrum did not come until we had to head back home. Our little boy wanted nothing with going inside and he let us know. Including everyone else in an ear shot. Oh the joy of parenting!!!!!

IT'S SPRING

We can't wait to explore and get dirty this spring. Daddy, Mommy, & Trevin set out for our first spring walk together today. At first, Trevin did not want to be set down. Maybe the fear of the unknown. "For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-control" 1Timothy 7. But it did not take him long to hit the trail.
As a mom I was consistently searching the ground for something that could harm him if he were to step on it or pick it up. I wonder if that is what our Heavenly Father is like. Is He consistently searching our surroundings ? Helping us when we fall or stumble into a bad situation or a mistake we have made. I am so thankful that I have his loving arms to hold me up. Because I know I am not perfect and that I am going to make mistakes in life. My prayer is that I will know when to let Trevin explore and when to hold him in my arms. I must have FAITH in JESUS that He knows when to let me explore and when HE holds me tight in HIS ARMS. I don't want to be like the young toddler trying to break the gentle hold. But I want to rest in knowing JESUS has everything under control. "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12: 2
One of my favorite verses is: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
John 16:33 That verse truly does give me a peace and reassurance. Thanks Be to God.
